Tara Williamson
Tara Williamson is a 10-year breast cancer survivor, nurse, and certified areola tattoo artist. At 39, she was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma and underwent a lumpectomy, followed by a bilateral mastectomy with immediate reconstruction using tissue expanders. After numerous appointments and surgeries, including nipple reconstruction and fat grafting in 2013, Tara sought an areola tattoo specialist but found no referrals from her plastic surgeon.
Unable to find the expert she needed, Tara had her areola tattoos done by a nurse but felt the limited color options (pink, brown, or nude) were inadequate for survivors. This experience inspired her to pursue a path where she could offer better options for others facing similar journeys.

​Tara is honored to have been asked to speak at the 2016 and 2018 American Academy of Breast Care Professionals Mastectomy Summit in Dallas, Texas, and New Orleans, Louisiana.
